Connecting to the DataFlow/Alaska, Inc. SharePoint Server

Using Mozilla Firefox

 

Connections to the DataFlow/Alaska, Inc. SharePoint server are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL).  To accomplish this, your Internet browser must have an encryption key.

 

DataFlow/Alaska, Inc. is providing its on Certificate Authority to create and manage security keys. 

 

Since we are not affiliated with a known third party Certificate Authority, your Internet browser will alert you that this certificate is “self-signed”.  This is normal for this connection.

 

 

Follow the instructions below to install the SSL certificate on your Mozilla Firefox Internet browser.

 

 

After you click your link to our SharePoint server, you will receive the following page:

 

 

Click “Or you can add an exception...” 

 

The next screen will allow you to add a self-signed certificate to your Internet Browser.

 

 

Click the “Add Exception…” button.

 

Now you are ready to get the certificate from our SharePoint server.

 

 

Click the Get Certificate button

 

The final step is to confirm that you want this certificate.

 

 

Click the Confirm Security Exception button

 

You now have the SSL certificate and are connecting to our SharePoint server over an encrypted connection.

 

The next step is to log in using the username and password you have been supplied.

 

 

Enter your user name and password

 

After a short wait, you should be viewing the SharePoint websites.
