Adobe/Macromedia Web Developers (2 positions)                    Location:  Anchorage

 

Positions Close: open until appropriate candidate(s) are hired

 

Description: As an entry or intermediate level web programmer, contribute your best programming skills to a team of fast Macromedia, ColdFusion and database developers. Build and maintain applications used by government agencies.

 

Programming Discipline: There is an entry level and an intermediate position available. You must analyze and follow the team's software development policies and standards, which may include the use of the team's chosen WC3 and CCS standards compliance tools and techniques.

 

Job Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of Macromedia Studio, Cold Fusion and relational database programming to efficiently produce high quality database driven web sites. Demonstrated knowledge of relational database design basics and, especially, the ability to understand and modify existing implementations. A Security background investigation, including personal history, finger-printing and police background check will be required.

 

Interview Process: DataFlow interviews can be a lengthy process.  Bring samples. We want a sense of what you can do. In addition to typical interview questions, the interviewers may request to see previous examples of your work and may have you complete some timed programming exercises to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. To probe your understanding of expressions, parameter passing, scope control and database interaction, you may be asked what results a code sample will produce. To gauge your understanding of relational databases, expect us to give you a timed normalization exercise or ask you to write a sequel query. To gauge your ability to communicate well with ordinary people, we may give you a technical concept and ask you to explain it to a non-technical person.

 

Experience Advantage: We'll look favorably on those that also have development experience outside Windows and cross-platform development experience. If you have any of server administration, SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL experience, in multiple operating systems, we especially value all of those.

 

Pay & Benefits: We're targeting beginning (with other programming experience) and intermediate level, but we'll also consider more experienced programmers and pay them more. Depending on experience, we're targeting pay in the $23 to $35 per hour range plus the possibility of an additional $3.01/hr cash in lieu of benefits for the first 90 days. Should DataFlow secure a follow-on project resulting in employment exceeding 90 days, we’ll provide full company benefits (healthcare, a 401k plan, paid vacation/sick leave, education and paid Federal holidays).
